Cantica Gaudia
Ordinary Time, Fall: Thursday Compline
Confession: Loving God, we confess that we have sinned against you by not honoring you or loving one another. When we ignore injustice in the world, our worship brings you no delight. Make haste to help us, that we may stand in right relationship with you and the whole of your creation, and sing your praises through the mercy of Christ, our resurrected Savior. Amen.
Psalm: Let the light of your eye in mine
Clarify my tangles and snarls
So they do not pull nor strangle
And my heart becomes clear
And my spirit newDon’t push me away
Don’t remove your natural love
Remind me of the joy I find in immersion in you
Support me – free me…Reading: Go slowly in the silence.
Consent to it, but don't wallow in it.
Know it as a place of germination and growth.
Remember the light.
Take an outstretched hand if you find one,
And exercise your unused senses.
Find the path by walking it.
Practice trust.
Watch for dawn.The Lord’s Prayer
Seed and source,
Far in the distance and in our souls,
You are holy and make us whole.
May we perceive your divine will
That loved us into being
Help us to join your creative force
And let it prosper here.
Give us what we need to survive,
And release us from our transgressions
As we release others from theirs.
Keep us away from paths of destruction
And from those who would ruin what you have made,
For you are the matrix of life, love and wisdom,
Now and forever. Amen.Prayer: Now, into the keeping of God, I put all doings of today, all disappointments, hindrances, forgotten things, negligences. All gladness and beauty, love, delight, achievement. All that people have done for me, all that I have done for them, my work and my prayers. And I commit all the people whom I love to God's shepherding, to God's healing and restoring, to God's calling and making, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Going Forth: O God, strengthen your servants with your heavenly grace, that we may continue yours for ever, and daily increase in your Holy Spirit more and more, until we come to your everlasting kingdom.
