Cantica Gaudia
Season of Easter: Tuesday Morning Prayer
Opening: Sleeper, awake! Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon you. Alleluia.
Canticle: Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her
All you who love her
Rejoice, rejoice with her,
All you who mourn over her,
That you may drink deeply with delight
From her comforting breast.
For thus says our God,
“I will extend peace to her like a river,
The wealth of nations like an overflowing stream.
You shall nurse and be carried on her arm,
And you shall nestle in her lap.
As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you;
You shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice,
You shall flourish like the grass of the fields.”Psalm: All the earth shouts for you!
We serve you joyfully
Come into your presence
With thanksgiving songsWe know you intimate as all
Know we come from you
Are you
Your people, flock of your pasture, wholly yoursAs we enter your gate with thanksgiving songs
Enter your court with chants of praise
We offer all our thanks
And heap blessings on your unsayablenessFor you are goodness
Endless kindness
Truthfulness now
And throughout the generations.Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Alleluia.
Reading: God is the life of all free beings. He is the salvation of all: of believers or unbelievers; of the just or the unjust; of the pious or the impious; of those freed from the passions or of those caught in them; of monks or those living in the world; of the educated or the illiterate; of the healthy or the sick, of the young or of the very old. He is like the outpouring of light, the glimpse of the sun, or the change of the weather, which are the same for everyone without exception.
The Lord’s Prayer: Holy One,
We honor your name.
Let the world know your justice
Here as everywhere.
Give us the food we need
For both the body and the soul.
Forgive us the wrongs we do
As we forgive the wrongs of others.
Keep us safe from the evil
At large or of our own making.
We trust you for you made us and
We are yours, now and always. Amen.Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, alive and at large in the world, help me to follow and find you there today, in the places where I work, meet people, spend money, and make plans. Take me as a disciple of your kingdom, to see through your eyes, and hear the questions you are asking, to welcome all people with your trust and truth, and to change the things that contradict God's love, by the power of Christ and the freedom of your Spirit. Amen.
Collect: Risen Christ,
for whom no door is locked, no entrance barred:
open the doors of our hearts,
that we may seek the good of others
and walk the joyful road of sacrifice and peace,
to the praise of God the Father.Going Forth: Holy Spirit, give us faith; Holy Spirit, give us hope; Holy Spirit, give us love. Revive your work in this land, beginning with me. Amen.
