Cantica Gaudia

Season of Easter: Monday Morning Prayer

Opening: If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Canticle: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases
God’s mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning.
Your faithfulness, O Lord, is great.
You are all that I have
And therefore I will wait for you.
You, O Lord, are good to those who wait for you
To all who seek you.
It is good to wait in patience
For the salvation of the Lord.

Psalm: You, you, only you
Are my share and my cup
You have drawn my lot
And it has fallen out agreeably

Lovely indeed is my estate
My heritage is pleasant to me
I bless you who brought me to this day
And even at night in the trying times
My trembling body is tethered to you

Your presence is always before me
In all the deeds of my hand
I will not be shaken from it
So my heart rejoices
My spirit is glad
And my body rests secure

Glory to God, who made us, who bears our pain, and who loves us,
As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever.  Amen.

Reading: Our soul must perform two duties. The one is we must reverently wonder and be surprised; the other is that we must gently let go and let be, always taking pleasure in God.

The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power and the glory,
For ever and ever.  Amen.

Prayer: Early in the morning, a voice in a guarded graveyard and footsteps in the dew proved you had risen, that you had come back to those and for those who had forgotten, denied and destroyed you.

O God, bring new life where we are worn and tired, new love where we have turned hard-hearted, forgiveness where we have wounded, and joy and freedom of your Holy Spirit where we are the prisoners of our selves. Amen.

Collect: O God, the life of the faithful, the glory of the saints, and the delight of those who trust you: hear our supplications, and quench, we pray, the thirst of those who long for your promises; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Going Forth: May we call upon Sophia and find her in all our thoughts. May her radiance enfold us and her laughter embolden us. May she lead us in paths of peace today and evermore. Amen.
