Cantica Gaudia
Ordinary Time, Early Summer: Sunday Morning Prayer
Opening: While you have light, trust to the light, and so become children of light.
Canticle: I will sing a new song to my God:
Lord, you are great and glorious,
Wonderful in strength and invincible.
Let the whole creation serve you
For you spoke, and all things came into being.
You sent out your breath and it formed them.
No one is able to resist your voice.
Mountains and seas are stirred to their depths
Rocks melt like wax at your presence.
But to those who revere you
You will continue to show mercyPsalm: Your rightness gleams in all action
Your goodness seeps into every hidden place
For those who call you in their heart’s truth
You are there in the calling
And you fulfill all those who embrace your power
Your hear their cries and they are saved. In your love you preserve those who love you
But in your distance you are the abandonment of those who abandon youMy mouth shall ever speak these words of praise for you
And all flesh shall be the blessing of your unsayable name
Everywhere and alwaysGlory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.Reading: The great sea frees me, moves me, as a strong river carries a weed. Earth and her strong winds move me, take me away, and my soul is swept up in joy.
The Lord’s Prayer: Abba our God,
Whom the heavens disclose,
May your name be held holy,
Your authority come.
May your longing be fulfilled
As in heaven, so on earth.
Give us today the bread of tomorrow,
And cancel our debts
As we have already forgiven our debtors.
Do not draw us in
To sinful enticement,
But set us free
From the grip of evil;
For authority and power and glory
Are yours alone, for ever. Amen.Prayer: Lord, take me where you want me to go, let me meet who you want me to meet, tell me what you want me to say, and keep me out of your way. Amen.
Collect: Grow to know the yoke that is easy and the burden that is light, which Christ offers you, and in turn, become rest for those who are weary and heavy laden.
Blessing: May God write a message on our hearts, bless and direct us, then send us out, living lettters of the Word. Amen.
